Two adults and a youth from Calgary were granted bail after being arrested in suspicion of a string of vandalism in Banff on Saturday.

Adyn Thompson, Shea McCullagh and a youth that cannot be named under the Youth Justice Act appeared in Banff Provincial Court on Monday and were granted $100 cash bail each.

Dale Fedorchuk appeared as defense counsel for the youth and Thompson and agent for McCullagh. They agreed to the bail in a joint submission with provincial Crown prosecutor Doug Simpson.

Several conditions for their release were imposed. They cannot have contact with each other and are prohibited from coming to Banff as part of some of their conditions.

"It is my understanding that Thompson and (the youth) plan to attend Banff to clean up the graffiti," said Simpson.

Judge John Reilly said that they could be in contact with each other for court purposes and could be in Banff for the purpose of repairing damage.

Simpson reserved election, meaning he will wait until the next court date to decide to prosecute the three under a summary conviction or indictable.

The charges were laid after Banff RCMP received a complaint call at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday that there was graffiti being put up around town.

Officers found that 16 locations in town were tagged with graffiti. A few hours later the three males were arrested and accused of the crime

Thompson, McCullagh and the youth will return to Banff Provincial Court on March 1.
